The latest fleet Glonass satellites will be launched on December 5

The last three Glonass satellite constellation will be launched on December 5 thus completing the Soviet positioning system. The GLONASS system was launched in 1982 and will consist, when completed, with 22 satellites and Cisco training. It also suffered several delays throughout its history but eventually will be placed on operation shortly.

Glonass was ralanzado and modernized in 2002 by Vladimir Putin himself. Galileo, the European competitor, remains mired in political problems and fainancieros and we will come until at least 2014.
