The Netherlands-based PEPC Worldwide N.V., a global distributor of digitally transmitted newspapers from newspaper publishers around the world, today announced the appointment of Rob Dorpmans as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Dorpmans succeeds Raoul Maphar, co-founder of PEPC Worldwide. Mr. Dorpmans will assume his new role effective from October 15th
.
Mr. Dorpmans brings 20 years of management and leadership experience to the company. After graduating in Business Administration in 1980 (Nijenrode, Business School, The Netherlands) Mr. Dorpmans held various sales positions at Burroughs Computers/Unisys Computers. In 1987 Mr. Dorpmans became Marketing & Sales Director of the Media Information Group offering products and services to the publishing and printing industry. Subsequently, Mr. Dorpmans became responsible for the financial market at Stratus Computers.
In 1994 Mr. Dorpmans was hired by Banyan Systems to build the Benelux sales organization. Being promoted to the position of country manager for North West Europe, Mr. Dorpmans was responsible for overall activities in the Benelux, the UK, France and Spain. The last two years Mr. Dorpmans taught Management & organization and Strategic Marketing Management at two educational institutes in The Netherlands.
Former CEO Raoul Maphar will remain involved in the company’s operations as VP New Business Development.

With today’s installation of a PRESSPOiNT™, PEPC’s interactive newspaper kiosk, at the Hilton Auckland, this five star hotel offers international guests the latest editions of 98 newspapers from 43 countries. Among the available newspapers are leading publications such as the International Herald Tribune, USA Today (USA), the Los Angeles Times (USA), Sports Nippon (Japan), El Pais (Spain), Komsomolskaya Pravda (Russia), Le Monde (France), Times of India (India) and El Economista (Mexico).
PEPC’s Official Dealer in New Zealand, Brantas International Technology Ltd, represented by Mr. Jan Willem M. Strijker, has installed a second newspaper kiosk at the America’s Cup Louis Vuitton Media Centre in Auckland. International journalists covering the challenger elimination series for the America’s Cup, can print the latest daily edition of their home-newspaper at the media center. The Louis Vuitton Cup Final, a best-of-nine series, will determine the challenging Yacht Club that will race the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron’s Team. For the 31stAmerica’s Cup Match, a best-of-nine series begins in New Zealand on 15 February 2003.
