PEPC WORLDWIDE DAILY DELIVERS LATEST EDITION NEWSPAPERS TO NATO-FORCES IN MACEDONIA

Royal Netherlands Army world’s first to provide troops with satellite-delivered newspapers.PEPC Worldwide today announces the installation of two newspaper kiosks, PRESSPOiNTS, at Camp Fox in Skopje, Macedonia. Through these interactive kiosks, soldiers of Task Force Fox (TFF) can daily print the latest edition of their favorite newspaper in tabloid format. The Royal Netherlands Army, in command of Operation Amber Fox since June 26th, is the world’s first army to provide troops with latest edition newspapers. PEPC’s newspaper kiosk currently offers 96 newspapers from 43 countries.

Ever since The Netherlands took over the command of the NATO-task force in Macedonia, soldiers have been reading ‘old news’. Newspapers were often 4 to 5 days old when they arrived at Camp Fox. Moreover the newspapers arrived irregularly and therefore newspapers of several days arrived at the same time. All this has changed now. PEPC’s seamlessly delivers newspapers to Camp Fox through its satellite distribution network. Electronic distribution eliminates international shipping costs and increases the timeliness of the newspapers. All 96 PEPC partnering newspapers are available only minutes after the printing process in the country of origin has started.

The kiosk not only provides the Dutch soldiers with their hometown newspapers. Also the Danish, German, French and Turkish soldiers, who work at the international headquarters in Skopje, are being provided with newspapers from their native countries. Major Rob Annink, spokesman of the task force in Macedonia says, “We can now read today’s news, it creates a feeling of being closer to home.” The two newspaper kiosks, installed at the communication center at Camp Fox, daily print approximately 70 newspapers.
