British Sky satellite platform has announced that in 2010 the first UK channel launch in 3D. The station will offer a wide selection of 3D programs , including movies, entertainment and sports. The service will be transmitted through existing infrastructure and HD will be available in the current generation of Sky + HD set- top boxes.

To view the 3D client will have to buy a TV technology supports three dimensions, which will be on sale in Britain next year.

In announcing the start of a new channel follows a series of tests, 3D television , including a live broadcast in 3D technology . April 2, 2009 Sky has successfully completed a performance broadcast live from Keane.

Sky has also confirmed to run in 2010 for the service of “pull” video on demand (VoD ). This new service will use the existing possibilities for the Sky + box in HD.
