SAUDI ARABIAN DAILY AL JAZIRAH GLOBALLY AVAILABLE ON PEPC’S PRESSPOINT
As from today onwards the latest edition of Al Jazirah, Saudi Arabia’s most influential newspaper, will be globally available on the PRESSPOiNT™*, PEPC’s on demand newspaper kiosk. With the addition of Al Jazirah, the PRESSPOiNT™* currently offers the latest edition of 59 newspapers from 31 countries. PEPC, acronym for Publishers Electronic Printing Concept, has signed agreements with leading publishers including the International Herald Tribune, El Pais (Spain), Times of India (India), Die Welt (Germany), Mainichi Shimbun (Japan) and El Economista (Mexico). Before the end of the year, PEPC expects to publish 70 national and international newspapers on its global network of PRESSPOiNTS
The co-operation with PEPC offers Al-Jazirah Corporation the opportunity to deliver the exact content of their newspaper to any corner of the world. Al-Jazirah currently has a daily circulation of approximately hundred thousand copies. Besides international news, Saudi Arabia’s most popular newspaper pays extensive attention to Arab and local news. “International research shows that the latter is valued the most by many newspaper readers. By making their newspaper available on the PRESSPOiNT™*, Al-Jazirah Corporation is able to service their loyal readers no matter where they are”, says Raoul Maphar, CEO PEPC Worldwide.
With its innovative “distribute-then-print”-model, PEPC offers national and international publishers easy access to new international markets without additional distribution and printing costs. By distributing the news electronically rather than shipping it in printed form, PEPC is even able to offer publishers a royalty payment for each copy sold. After joining PEPC’s publishing base, publishers send their digital newspaper files, via the Internet, to PEPC’s Control Center in the Netherlands. After a check – to insure printability of the files- PEPC transfers the global editions of the newspapers via satellite uplink and multicast satellite transmission to PRESSPOiNTS* and receiving locations around the world.
PEPC installs PRESSPOiNTS* at upscale venues such as hotels, convention centers, cruise lines, international airports and other high traffic locations where international travelers congregate. PEPC has currently installed PRESSPOiNTS* in England, Egypt, India, Indonesia, The Netherlands, The Netherlands Antilles, Thailand and The US.
