Roll Call Vote of the Bayosphere Citizen Journalists
Hypocrisy being such a popular theme here on the Bayosphere, I think it’s time to conduct our own little roll call vote on a matter hypocritical.
Recall if you will the loud cries for prosecution in the Plame kerfuffle.
We have now before us a case wherein someone who was read in to the NSA intercept project has revealed a TOP SECRET SCI (Special Compartmented Information [Title 50 Chapter 15 Subchapter VI ยง 435a.(f)(2)] ) project. A project conducted against an active and deadly enemy of the United States during time of war. Such a revelation is a clear violation of the National Security Act of 1947.
Any person who publishes or makes available to an unauthorized person or otherwise uses to the detriment of the United States classified information regarding the codes, cryptography, and communications intelligence utilized by the United States is subject to fines and a ten year prison term…(best reference I can so far find is here)
So, basic crime, unauthorized disclosure of Top Secret Material.
Aggravating factors:
Top Secret SCI
Communications Intelligence
During Time of War
Damaging to ongoing Military and Intelligence Operations
Party or Parties unknown stand accused of so doing.
In the Bayosphere
Whereas a party or parties unknown has without authorization revealed TOP SECRET SCI information concerning a program of communications intelligence.
Whereas said unauthorized revelation was during time of war.
Whereas said disclosure damaged the ability of the United States to gather intelligence on the enemy via this program.
Be it Resolved
This illegal revelation of TOP SECRET SCI information should be investigated with the utmost rigor.
Any person or persons found to have violated federal law by revealing or failing to protect said TOP SECRET SCI information in contravention of their legal responsibilities and sworn oath should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and if found guilty receive the maximum punishment allowed under law.
That any persons or organizations with knowledge of this illegal revelation of TOP SECRET SCI information be required to testify under oath as to the person or persons making the revelation; that failure to so testify be treated as contempt of court and/or
hindrance of prosecution, and tried and punished accordingly.
The Citizen Journalists of the Bayosphere will indicate by responding to this message with a response that includes:
Yea (if agreeing to the Resolution)
Nay (if disagreeing to the resolution)
Present (not voting)
